DC-2 4 String Bolt Neck Signature Series 4 String available - $1449.00
I felt that this combination of woods would make a great 4 string bolt neck bass, so I started buildling it. However, after
I started buildling it I started to work on some design changes for my bolt neck basses, which included making the lower horn a bit larger
and the upper horn a bit shorter, both horns a bith thicker to give the body more visual balance and a bit more mass. I also decided to
go with a 22 fret neck instead of a 24 fret in order to make the body a bit longer for better visual balance, etc. I also decided to
move the truss rod access point to the headstock instead of the heel. These changes resulted in my new line of HRV - "Hot Rod Vintage"
bolt neck basses.
However, this bass started out with my original "DC-2" body design and I made these changes while working on this bass. Therefore,
I am considered it to be the first "prototype" for my new DC-2B HRV basses, so it has been stamped and serial numbered
"DC-2B HRV PROTO-0001" accordingly in both the neck pocket and on the back of the headstock. Of course, it will still carry my
standard warranty and all.
